Regional Wage

Alberta

Prevailing Wage:

 

$10.11 per hour

Maximum Hours:

 

48 hours/week (or more if there is an employer/employee agreement indicating more hours)

Paid Overtime:

 

After 44 hours/week
Overtime rate: 1.5 time employee’s regular wage.

Rest Periods:

 

Meal breaks: one 30-minute break if work shift exceeds 5 hours.

Room & Board:

 

•  $3.20/meal
•  $4.22/day for lodging
Employers cannot charge for a meal that the employee did not receive.

Vacation Leave:

 

2 weeks a year. Vacation pay: 4% of wages
